Gayle L. Byers, CHC, has invested over 30 years in the design and financing of employee benefit programs for the healthcare market. His experience ranges from over twenty years with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and additional tenure as a Vice President of Key Benefit Administrators, a Third Party Administrator based in Indianapolis.
Service with Anthem included experience in the large corporate market and in the National Division of the company. Mr. Byers also served as Vice President of Acordia College Benefits—an arm of Blue Cross and Blue Shield specializing in the college market on a nationwide basis—from 1989 to 1994.
In the TPA arena, his focus was directed toward benefit design, utilization management and financing of medium size and large group employers with self-funded employee benefit programs.
Mr. Byers holds an undergraduate degree from DePauw University, a Master’s degree from Indiana State University, and has done postgraduate work at the Krannert School of Business at Purdue University in the area of insurance.
Mr. Byers is currently the benefit consultant for the Indiana State Teachers Retirement Fund (ISTRF) and several local government entities.
When not at work, Gayle is actively involved with the philanthropies of the Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine. He and his wife live in Carmel and are members of the Carmel United Methodist Church.
