Michael Haffey is a Senior Vice President of Marketing for Brown & Brown of Indiana, and is responsible for marketing and sales for one of Indiana’s largest multi-line independent insurance agencies. With the acquisition of 7 insurance agencies over the past several years, Brown & Brown of Indiana now boasts over 50 employees and $700 million in annual premium making it the largest independent insurance agency in Central Indiana based on the Indianapolis Journal’s Book of Lists. Brown & Brown is a publicly traded company ranking in the top 10 of all independent insurance agencies in the country. With over 110 retail offices in 33 states Brown & Brown is one of the nation’s most respected independent insurance agencies. Prior to joining the Brown & Brown team after the acquisition in late 2008, Michael was a Partner at Agency Associates, Inc. (AAI). Founded in 1974, Agency Associates grew to be one of the largest multiple line independent insurance agencies in Indiana. With over $103 million in annual premium and over 6500 clients, Agency Associates provided comprehensive insurance solutions to individuals and businesses. Agency Associates secured the endorsement of several major professional associations including the Indiana State Medical Association and the Indiana State Bar Association. Michael is the Managing General Agent for the Indiana State Medical Association Insurance Agency (ISMAIA) and the Indiana State Bar Association Insurance Agency (ISBAIA). He directs the sales and marketing of a $35 million association health plan with the ISMA. Michael received his B.A. from Miami University in 1984. He became a leading producer for Lincoln National Life, Metropolitan Life and Blue Cross Blue Shield. In 1989, he founded Haffey & Associates in Indianapolis and grew his start-up agency from zero premiums to over $11 million dollars in 1996. During that time he earned his CLU designation, Series 7 and 63. In 1996, Haffey & Associates merged with Agency Associates Inc. AAI provides insurance and employee benefits to over 1800 businesses and over 5000 individuals, AAI is consistently ranked as one of the largest independent, multi-line Insurance Agencies and Employee Benefit Consulting Firms in Indiana. Michael became a core founder of Symphony Bancorp in 2002. As a de novo financial institution Symphony opened its doors in 2005 and has grown to $50 million in assets. Michael is a member of The Symphony Bancorp Board. By providing a variety of financial products and complete employee benefits consulting to his clients, he is constantly seeking proven solutions to control employer’s health care costs and improve the health, welfare and financial position of their employees. |
