Kevin Mandrell is Vice President of Employee Benefits at Brown and Brown of Indiana. He joined the company in January of 2008. He began his career in 1982 with John Hancock Insurance under the watchful eye of an admired family friend about to retire from a successful career in the industry. Kevin earned his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation in 1997, and Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) designation in 1998 from the American College. In addition Kevin holds National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) licenses Series 7 and 63. In 1993 Kevin started his own firm, Diversified Insurance Brokerage Group, Inc. Diversified flourished as an Employee Benefit Consulting Firm boasting $20 million in annual sales and gaining the attention of Brown & Brown. Kevin merged his company with Brown & Brown in January of 2008 and continues to provide diligent service to his clients. As part of his tenure in the insurance industry he has served on various committees and advisory boards, and has been recognized nationally as a top broker for key carriers such as Anthem, Humana, Principal and United Healthcare. Kevin began volunteering for the Arthritis Foundation in 1995 and became a board member in 2002, later serving as Board Chair for the Indiana Chapter from 2007 through 2008 and was appointed Director to the National Board in 2009. He also serves as a Board Director for Bosma Industries for the Blind and was one of the founding board members of the Irvington Development Organization. Kevin and his wife Annette have been married 25 years and have enjoyed renovating two historic buildings, a school building located in Irvington that now serves as Irvington Office Center, and a bank building in Rushville, now known as "The 201", which is also an office and banquet center. Their daughter Lauren, recently married, attends IUPUI and also works with Brown & Brown part time. Their son, Christian, is a junior at New Palestine High School. |
